I remember being fascinated reading an interview with Michael Jordan a few years ago. It was after one of the championship seasons, and he was talking about how he was preparing for the next season. He said he was getting older, and wanted to loose some weight before the next season, to avoid injury and stay explosive.
I know exactly how he feels. I need to loose some weight as well, to avoid injury and … get explosive (if I’m lucky).
Except, he was going to do it by training less to reduce muscle mass. I need to loose that other kind of body mass, and should probably be training more. Which means actually getting of my ass and working up a sweat.
So last night I went to one of the local courts and practiced some by myself. Being alone on a basketball court can be very meditative, especially on a beautiful summer evening.
