Full court shell drill.
We do a 6 on 4 shell live in the full court. Essentially, we put girls in each of the 4 corners — 2 for each team. We allow the corner players to do two things—shoot the layup (only shot allowed) or pass. If they drive in and get stopped, no pullup jumpers allowed — they must pass if they don’t get the layup.
What I really like is the transition phase. When the defense transitions the other way, they can pass up to the two in the corners whenever they want — usually before crossing half court. This really forces the team that was on offense to get back quickly. We really love this.
It is such a great conditioner as well. After a while, we rotate the girls in the corners with 2 girls in the 4 on 4 until all 6 play in the corner.
