Two chairs

This is a great drill that requires a ball and two chairs.

Instructions

Set up the two chairs at the elbows of the foul line. Have both players begin at the baseline under the goal. On the signal one player goes up through the lane and around to the outside of the chair. As player one comes around the chair player two makes a pass (bounce or chest) to player one who then catches and shoots. Player one should follow his shot and get rebound and pass back to player two.

Variations

I also use this drill for my big men except I invert the run pattern (instead of inside to outside I have them run from the outside to the inside) and I have them come down for lay-ups.

Skills

This drill helps develop a quick “catch and release” shooting technique.
