Rebounding

Like defense, rebounding takes dedication. But rebounding is easier if you understand the basics of boxing out, timing, and the importance of defensive positioning.

There are 69 basketball drills in this category, and the newest ones are listed first.

Tossback rebounding drill

This is a drill I borrowed from a website, but have varied it and made it much more intense. It teaches the player to time their jump for a rebound.

Explosivness

Two players each stand about 2 feet away from the basket by the corners. One player shoots and misses and the other person grabs the rebound and shoots it.

Agressive(s)

The coach will bounce the ball off of the back board (you will then rebound it, jumping as high as you can). Pass the ball back to the coach, then run to the baseline. The you will do a defensive slide, to the corner. When you take off, the coach will roll the ball down the court (you will sprint, and go down on the floor to get it). – If they don’t go down on the floor, they will then run a suicide, is they don’t do the suicide within 32 seconds, then the whole team, will run suicides, until everyone finishes within that time.
