A killer crossover isn’t how good the crossover looks, it’s how the defender reacts to it.
I’ve heard so many people say they have a killer crossover and it sucks. This is how you really do it.
Start with the ball in the strong hand (right for now). First, look at your defender and figure out what kind of defender he is. This will help do the the cross better. Start with ball in hand and take a quick step forward with right leg and put ball between leg to left hand. If your defender jumps backward, the cross will work, if he is not fazed by it do the move again and go past him. Now after you have figured out what your defender jumps, you can do the crossover.
Now, start with the ball in the weak hand, put it between your leg to the right hand and while doing that, take a quick side hop while dribbling between your leg when you see your defender start to hop to where your going, and he will if he’s a good defender. Then plant your left foot on the ground and take a side step with your right and then cross to the left hand and don’t stand there and let your defender recover, dribble to the hoop and dunk.

Three players take the ball downcourt to be met by two defenders and try to score in the shortest amount of time. The player who takes the shot becomes defense on the other side of the court and the two defenders become the offense. The two players that did not shoot become defense for the next group of three that come down. The three players that made up the 2on1 get back into line.

This is a drill I used often at Princeton to make the team work together as a defensive unit. It also helps the offensive player rely on his own skills in case he gets in a situation during a game in which he needs to dig himself out of a hole.

Play basketball without dribbling! This drill teaches all 5 offensive players to move and get open, beat a press without dribbling, as well as, teaching the defense how to play man-to-man defense! If a person dribbles the ball, it’s a violation! The drill can be very exhausting! So don’t expect the players to make a whole game out of this drill! 5-10 mines and then switch to normal play. Notice if the players go back to letting the 2 best ball handlers break the press alone, or if they help! Many players feel they should just go to their assigned positions and rely too much on the guards to do the work! Try it! Let me know what you think!

Most players have two separate movements for dribble penetration and their jump shot. This drill is designed to teach explosive footwork, balance, and penetration technique off the dribble.
The player must hold their decision to penetrate or shoot the jumper until the last second, which is a game like situation. If their decision is make too soon, they will either miss the jumper or travel. The player can learn to ‘make a power pause’ with the dribble into the jump shot or with one quick low penetration dribble on to the basket for a lay-up.

You start two lines 3-pt line extended on the wings on either side of the court. The first girl in one line starts with a basketball and the second girl in the other line also starts with a ball. The first girl in one of the lines without the ball cuts straight across to the opposite box and receives a pass from the first girl in the other line. After passing she does the same to the other side and drill continues.
