Physically Take Charge!

Learn how to take on a charge at full speed.

Instructions

3 lines needed. 1 line with balls at the top of the key (offensive player). 2 lines on the outside of the 3 point line at the baseline (defensive players). On coache’s whistle, players attempt lay-up at full speed, trying to put defenders in jail. 2 lines sprint to get in front of basket, attempting to a take charge. Defensive players should get feet set, collapse on contact, and slide on bum and hands for a safe fall to the floor. Physical drill, but will make the team aggressive going to the hoop.

Tips

Must be full out sprinting all 3 lanes. Breakdown how to take the charge before progressing to this drill. Attack hoop!!
