Block party

Player 1 (offense) starts at the right side going in for layup. Player 2 (defense) starts in front of basket and jumps but floats by offense swinging with his left arm. This way he doesn\‘t get called for body.

Variations

Left and right side.

Tips

Keep arm extended until player shoots because once you float by, he thinks he has a layup and you can block it from behind.

Skills

Blocking the layup without fouling.

Sorry but think this drill teaches the wrong kind of thing to players, perhaps if the focus is the layup under pressure. The defence should be just getting a body on the attacker and making the layup hard rather then going for blocks.
