Hour glass

A sprinting and defensive sliding drill that will burn and get your team into shape.

Instructions

All of the players line up at a corner where the baseline and sideline meet. The first player will sprint to half court, then defensive slide (hands up) to the other sideline, then sprint to he other baseline. He/she will then defensive slide around the three-point arc and then sprint back to half court and defensive slide again. Sprint to the starting baseline and defensive slide around the other three-point arc and end up back at the beginning corner. (So basically, players will sprint on the sidelines and defensive slide on half court and 3-point arc.)

Variations

Make them keep their hands in the air for EVERYTHING, even sprints! or Set a time limit.

Skills

Defensive positioning, endurance, leg strength.
