1-minute Lay-ups

Form one line under one basket, another line under opposite basket. 1 player has ball at elbow facing opposite basket.

Instructions

On coach’s mark, players with the ball dribble full speed to make lay-up at other end. Next person in each line takes ball out of net and sprint dribble to opposite end for lay-up.

Variations

  • Number of makes depends on skill level of your team.
  • Our consequences are sprints or pushups.

Tips

  • We try to make 22 lay-ups in one minute. This allows for no misses in that minute.
  • We go right-handed 1 minute and left-handed 1 minute.
  • This is a great conditioning drill as well as a skill drill for full speed lay-ups.
