Garbage Man

This game is a combination of the traditional game called “21” and “around the world”.

Instructions

Cones are set up at shooting areas around the perimeter at least 3 feet outside the paint perimeter up to 3 point lineperimeter. Players are teamed up comprised of a backcourt and frontcourt player. All of the front court players enter the paint. Their teamates line up behind the first cone. The first player shoots, if they make it they advance to the next cone. The next player shoots. The ball is live on the missed shot. Teamates in the paint go for the ball and attempt put backs. Fouls are called where needed. If a player makes the put back, their teamate advances a cone. First team pair to make it to the last cone wins. A team advances a cone once one of the teamates makes a shot. After advancing the next team shoots.

Variations

Once a team advances to the last cone they can reverse back to the beginning. Or they switch with the shooter who now has to play smart in the paint against bigger players. It also gives another team the ability to catch up. Overall the best team of frontcourt and backcourt combination wins.

Tips

Ball is blown dead once the rebound attempt bounces outside of the paint.
Teach players in paint to go toward the basket as opposed dribbling away. Teach ball fakes, how to draw a foul, up and under moves, drop steps, foul shooting box outs.etc

Skills

Catch and shoot, rebounding, foul shooting, finishing, boxing out, footwork.
