All Around Fun

Teaches blocking out and transition from offense to defense and defense to offense.

Instructions

Have one player with the ball at the free throw line and other two under the basket waiting to block out and rebound.. Player with ball shoots, if made one of the two rebounders steps out of bounds and quickly passes the ball in, if missed shooter goes after rebound and both rebounders block out. One player rebounds and the other sets up for outlet pass and fast break to the other end for a lay up. Player who shot free throw goes on defense and tries to stop the fast break. At the other end of the court the player who shot the lay up goes to the free throw line and it starts over again.

Variations

Add two more players on the free throw shooters team and look out.

Tips

I’m using this with 3rd and 4th grade girls and they love it. They really move the ball up the court faster than the other teams can set up defens. It took them several tries to do it so be patient.

Skills

Free Throw shooting, blocking out, outlet pass, passing, defense, transition, and ballhandling.
